Sheet metal fabrication technology capabilities

XProdLab provides sheet metal fabrication for equipment, communications electronics, robotics, medical equipment, automotive and industrial automation projects. Services cover laser cutting, CNC punching, bending, welding, riveting, forming, assembly and finishing for enclosures, panels, brackets, mounting plates, guards and low-volume structural parts.

Sheet metal laser cutting services for chassis panels, case extensions, mounting plates and precision bracket blanking

laser cutting

For sheet metal parts that require rapid prototyping, low-volume pilot production and complex contour cutting, it supports cutting of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, galvanized sheet and copper alloy sheet.

Laser cutting is suitable for chassis panels, shell expansion pieces, mounting plates, brackets and shields. It can reduce mold opening investment and help customers verify dimensions, hole positions and assembly relationships faster.

General tolerance capability: ±0.05 ~ ±0.10 mm, specific accuracy will be evaluated based on material thickness, contour complexity and subsequent bending and welding requirements.

CNC stamping and turret punching sheet metal fabrication services for ventilation orifice plates, mounting orifice plates and batch connection panels

CNC stamping / turret punching

It is suitable for processing regular hole patterns, louver holes, slotting and batch hole positions, and can improve the production efficiency of ventilation orifice plates, installation orifice plates, connection plates and equipment panels.

For small and medium-volume sheet metal projects, CNC stamping can achieve a better balance between cost, cycle time and consistency, and is especially suitable for structural parts with many repetitive holes.

Conventional tolerance capability: ±0.10 ~ ±0.20 mm. Engineers will confirm the processing plan based on hole spacing, plate thickness, burr direction and surface treatment requirements.

CNC bending sheet metal fabrication services for forming chassis shells, cabinet frames and L-shaped U-shaped structural parts

CNC bending

For the bending forming needs of chassis shells, cabinet frames, equipment brackets, L-shaped and U-shaped structural parts, it supports the processing of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy and galvanized sheets.

The engineering team will evaluate the bending radius, expansion size, hole margin, bending sequence and springback risk to help customers reduce assembly interference and angular deviation.

Angle accuracy: ±0.2° ~ ±0.5°, the specific results depend on the material, plate thickness, bending length and structural complexity.

Sheet metal welding processing services for cabinet frames, bracket weldments and sheet metal structural assemblies

Welding processing

Supports carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum alloy sheet metal welding, and can be used for cabinet frames, bracket weldments, guard structures and multi-part sheet metal assemblies.

Based on product strength, appearance, sealing and assembly requirements, TIG, MIG, spot welding and tooling positioning solutions can be evaluated to control welding deformation and batch consistency.

Assembly accuracy: ±0.2 ~ ±0.5 mm (based on tooling fixture positioning), key dimensions can be confirmed individually in drawings and inspection standards.

Sheet metal riveting and riveting processing services for rivet nuts, studs, assembly panels and connecting structural parts

riveting/press riveting

Suitable for integrating rivet nuts, rivet studs, rivets and fastening connection structures into sheet metal parts to improve assembly efficiency and connection reliability.

Engineers will evaluate the feasibility of riveting based on plate thickness, hole diameter, edge distance, fastener specifications and drawing requirements to reduce the risk of loosening, deformation and assembly rework.

Positioning accuracy: ±0.10 mm, key connection positions can be controlled in accordance with incoming material standards, torque requirements and assembly inspection.

Sheet metal stretching, flanging and forming services for stretched shells, flanged structures and special-shaped sheet metal parts

Sheet metal forming (stretching/flanging/forming)

Supports stretching, flanging, ribs, convex hulls and special-shaped structure molding, suitable for sheet metal parts that need to improve rigidity, guidance, assembly positioning or appearance continuity.

In the early stage of the project, the manufacturing plan will be evaluated based on material ductility, molding height, fillet radius, cracking risk and mold investment to help customers balance structural effects and costs.

Forming accuracy: ±0.10 ~ ±0.30 mm, depending on the sheet material, forming depth, structural complexity and subsequent surface treatment.

Sheet metal assembly services for one-stop delivery of cabinet assemblies, housing components and functional structural modules

Sheet metal assembly

For cabinet assemblies, shell components, functional structural modules and equipment sheet metal parts, we provide cutting, bending, welding, riveting, surface treatment and assembly collaborative delivery.

Help customers reduce multi-supplier communication costs and improve delivery consistency through BOM, drawing version, fastener specifications, assembly sequence and inspection standard management.

Assembly consistency is based on tooling fixtures, assembly standards and factory inspection control, and dimensional inspection and appearance confirmation can be provided according to project requirements.

Commonly used materials for sheet metal fabrication

Commonly used materials for sheet metal fabrication include carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized sheet, aluminum alloy, copper and brass and other plate systems. When customers choose sheet metal materials, they usually need to consider structural strength, weight, corrosion resistance, electrical and thermal conductivity, appearance, surface treatment, processing difficulty and batch cost.

XProdLab can combine application requirements such as chassis cabinets, shell panels, brackets, mounting plates, shields, conductive parts and heat sinks to evaluate material grades, plate thicknesses, tolerances, bending radii, welding methods and post-processing solutions to help customers quickly determine sheet metal fabrication materials suitable for prototype validation, low-volume pilot production or batch delivery.

Stainless steel_SUS201

SUS201 is an austenitic stainless steel system with high strength and certain corrosion resistance. The material cost is usually lower than SUS304. Its corrosion resistance is relatively sensitive to chloride ion/salt spray environment, making it more suitable for indoor or light corrosion scenarios. In terms of processing, laser cutting, bending and welding can be performed, but forming springback and work hardening require more attention to process parameters and mold design. Brushing/polishing is often used to enhance the appearance.

If customers want to strike a balance between stainless steel appearance and cost, SUS201 is suitable for interior decorative panels, home appliance casings, commercial equipment casings, general corrosion-resistant structural parts, shields and stainless steel sheet metal parts in non-strongly corrosive environments.
